Installing this device is actually easier and it
is more portable than the official Sony adapter. This device simply
plugs right into the front of the PS2 system using the cable that
comes with. The other end plugs into a standard cat 5 patch cable
(which you probably already have if you are using a cable or DSL
modem). The Ethernet cable (patch cable) then plugs into your modem.
There are no power cords because the adapter draws it's power from the
USB slot at a mere trickle. It's really that simple. There are no
drivers to install and no additional hardware required. It is
completely plug and play. When you are finished playing, simply unplug
the adapter and put it away. All your settings will be saved on a
memory card for future use. The other major benefit of using a USB
network adapter is that you dont use up your ONLY expansion slot on
the PSX2, which you'll need later for other add ons. You also dont
have to take your PSX2 apart. The USB network adapter currently
supports all PSX2 online games except for ATV Offroad fury 2. I
personally use this adapter for Madden 2003, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3,
and Socom (Socom is absolutely unreal). NFL2k3, Marvel Vs. Capcom, and
all other online games except ATV Offroad Furty 2 are compatible with
this device
